WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!

SUMMIT CHURCH | SUNDAYS AT 10 AM

"I'M THINKING ABOUT ATTENDING ONE OF YOUR SERVICES..."

BUT I HAVE QUESTIONS...

(GREAT! WE’D LOVE THE CHANCE TO MEET YOU.)

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our weekend services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans or shorts, to as formal as suits and dresses.

SERIOUSLY, COME AS YOU ARE!

WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

Every service, we offer Sunday AM childcare (infant through pre-school).
Summit Kids (K-2nd Grade) meet the first 4 Sundays of every month (5th Sundays off).
Summit Kids (Grades 3-5) meet the first 3 Sundays of every month (with 4th and 5th Sundays off).

The first time that you bring your children to Summit, please register them at our ‘Children’s Check In’ with one of our volunteer workers.  Any usher, greeter, or team member can direct you there. After checking in your kids, you’ll worship together as a family in the worship center. On the Sunday’s Summit Kids meet,  your kids (K-5th grade) will be dismissed to the lobby right before the message, where they will meet their teachers.

If your infants/toddlers are being cared for during our morning worship service, please know that we employ a trained security team who actively monitor our facility, with special attention to all children’s areas. We take safety of our entire congregation very seriously.
While your children are enjoying our nursery or ‘Summit Kids’ ministry, we feature on-screen notifications for you if your child needs attention (look for the badge number on your check-in receipt; this will be displayed on all projection and video displays throughout the building if you are needed).
In our Nursery, we offer childcare for children from birth to 24 months. Our Early Childhood begins at 2 years and goes through to Pre-Kindergarten. We offer an age-appropriate, structured program of worship songs, a Bible lesson with engaging visuals, games and a snack. There will also be some free time for play. Your kids are going to love it!

If you have any need to step out of the service to care for your children, you’re welcome to sit in our spacious lobby and watch our service on video monitors. Need to nurse your infant? We have a private room in our nursery where you can continue to watch the service on a video monitor as you care for your child!

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I ARRIVE?

When you pull onto our campus, you’ll be directed to our main parking lot by signs until you meet our friendly greeters at every entrance.

Come in any of our east or west main entrances and identify yourself as a first time guest to any member of our Connection Team. They’ll be able to answer any questions that you have while helping you find your way.

Do you have kids? Read, below, in the What’s Available For My Children section for more info!

Restrooms are found near every main entrance for your convenience. Grab a coffee or tea in the cafe and get to know some of the great people around you. If you have any questions, check in at the Connection Desk for assistance.

Countdown screens in the lobby keep you informed about the start time of worship. As you enter the worship center, our greeting team will offer assistance in helping you find a seat, if you need. Lean in and join us as we worship Jesus!

WHAT ELSE HAPPENS AT SUMMIT CHURCH?

At Summit we love our weekend services for worshiping together, but church is not an event, it’s the people. Many of those who attend our weekend worship service will also be meeting during the week in small groups of people in various homes throughout the lakeshore area. The purpose of all these groups is to worship, study and discuss God’s Word together and encourage one another through develop meaningful and lasting friendships. Often, we also feature extended learning opportunities along the lines of many various topics including “parenting, marriage, biblical counseling, financial budgeting and planning, bible study, men’s and women’s ministries, etc. Another great way to connect with people is to get involved serving in various areas of ministry at Summit. You should also check out our “Gateway Gatherings” at Gateway Mission (Holland, MI) the first Thursday night of every month (7pm).

We use the term “discipleship” around here a lot. A disciple of Jesus Christ is one who is committed to growing in spiritual understanding, maturity and a life-giving personal relationship with Jesus.

We’re ‘more than a Sunday’… we’re a disciple-making church!

WHAT'S A WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?

MUSIC
Our service begins with worship in song, led by a live band. Most people stand during this time, though you are welcome to just sit and “take it all in”. The words of all of the songs are projected onto screens. The style of our worship style at Summit would be considered modern, high-energy and passionate, always grounded in the truth of God’s Word.

CHILDREN
If you have children, we invite you to sit with them for the opening worship portion of our serve before they are welcome to join up with Summit Kids (when offered on the first 3 Sundays of every month) for the remainder of our morning together. There will be clear direction on the screens as to when this occurs. (Of course, your kids are also welcome to remain with you for the entire service, if you’d prefer.)

CONNECT WITH US
During our brief ‘Summit Update’, you’ll be directed to check in via our “connection books” to let us know you worshiped with us and offer your an opportunity to request prayer, ask questions or even share what the Lord is doing in your life. Please take a minute to let us know more about you and/or your family and how we can be praying for you or serving you in any way. This is simply our way for us to know you were here and how to connect with and serve you best. You will not be singled out or asked to stand or raise your hand- or anything else embarrassing- so you can relax and enjoy the service. There’s no reason to feel uncomfortable!

TEACHING
Summit provides practical Bible preaching (about 35-45 min) that help you deal with real life issues along the journey of loving Jesus and following Him more and more. Typically, we preach from the English Standard Version (ESV) but you’ll sometimes hear references for NKJV, NIV, etc. You can take notes in our provided printed bulletins or via the YouVersion Bible App (search “events” for Summit Church)

CONNECT WITH US
After The Service, if you’re a first time guest at SUMMIT CHURCH we want to meet you! Please stop by our CONNECTION DESK in the lobby (or come up front to the stage!) to meet a someone from our pastoral staff. If you have any initial questions about what you’ve seen or heard at Summit we would love to answer those questions. We look forward to meeting you! Also, don’t feel that you have to hurry out the door. Why not grab a coffee and give our friendly church family a chance to meet you?

(PSA: Don’t forget to pick up your children from SUMMIT KIDS’ class before you leave!)

WHAT ARE SOME NEXT STEPS THAT I MIGHT CONSIDER TAKING?

STEP 1: LUNCH WITH THE PASTORS /// One of the opportunities that we provide for you to learn more about Summit is our quarterly LUNCH WITH THE PASTORS where you get to meet our pastors, other newcomers, and many of the church’s leaders. It’s a great opportunity to meet our leaders and meet other people newer to Summit. Feel welcome to ask questions in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.Lunch with the Pastors occurs on select Sundays throughout the year immediately following the morning worship service. Children are welcome and a really delicious free lunch is provided.

STEP 2: SUMMIT ESSENTIALS /// This class (offered quarterly on Sundays during the second half of our worship service) meets in our Learning Center, led by elders of our church. You’ll learn about the mission and values of our church; “what we believe” and “why we do what we do”. You’ll be able to ask questions and get to know some of the Summit leaders.

STEP 3: MEMBERSHIP CLASS /// As you get to know our church family, we hope you’ll consider becoming a member of our church family. This class (offered quarterly on Sundays during the second half of our worship service) gives you more specific information about the “doctrine” of our church, why membership matters and how to become one!

Watch for upcoming dates on our INFO PAGE.
